Cris Bruch C.V. Press Exhibitions
Cris Bruch is a significant figure artistically, socially and as an educator in the northwest. His career spans over 20 years—from early found-object sculpture, street rubbings and sociopolitically motivated actions, to his later refined sculpture and works on paper. Bruch has rarely seen a material he didn’t like as he has explored the possibilities, embraced the intrinsic qualities and pushed the limits of among others: metal, paper, string, fiberglass, resin, rubber, composites, plastic, and every wood he can lay his hands on. Bruch’s latest pieces are decidedly his most formal and reveal his meticulous manner of craftsmanship, yet also retain a sense of his sly wit and his rigorous social and conceptual underpinnings.
